The New York Health Forum Established

The 1st New York Health Forum with the slogan “Connection to Improve the Human Health” was held in Yale Club of New York City from 3:00-6:00 pm on December 18, 2014. Over 50 individuals including investors, industry leaders, and physicians attended this forum. Dr. Dohyun Cho, the Chairman of New York Health Forum has given opening remarks to announce the beginning of the forum. Intention of New York Health Forum is to build connection among healthcare leaders and business developers to collaborate their knowledge to target the future need in the human health. The sessions for the 1st New York Health Forum were “Forecasting Healthcare Industry in 2015” and “Establishing New Healthcare Initiatives.” Two sessions were moderated by Chief Legal Officer of W Medical Strategy Group, Joseph P. McMenamin, MD, JD. Dr. Tae-wan Kim, Professor from Columbia University Medical School covered the growth and trend of R&D in biotech industry. Bob Lee, former President of HiOssen America discussed about the dental industry and its potential growth in the market in 2015. Mark S. Paxton, JD, Executive Vice President of W Medical Strategy Group remarked about the global regulatory and compliance issues based on his experience working with Food and Drug Administration. Last panelist, Geoffrey Kaiser, JD, Counsel at Rivkin Radler LLP remarked types of healthcare frauds and issues that may affect business providers and companies. Dr. Chul S. Hyun, MD, PhD, and President of World Korean Medical Organization remarked about recent establishment of Center for Viral Hepatitis. Dr. Woodson C. Merrell, MD, Chairman of the Department of Integrative Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, explained and discussed about new approach of integrative medicine. An Award Ceremony followed right after the two informative sessions. The WMSG Distinguish Contribution Award was presented to those who have shown distinguished contribution this year to WMSG. Larry Slatky, CFACHCA, and Sangi Lee were selected for this year. At the end of each session, panelists and audiences had chance for Q&A. Since networking among the healthcare leaders and business providers were also a significant benefit for attending New York Health Forum, many of them were able to get opportunities to go beyond the forum.
